Private Lessons
The Altavista area YMCA is pleased to offer private swim lessons
for adults or children if your schedule does not fit our regularly
scheduled lessons. These lessons are for the non-swimmer to someone
who just wants to improve their strokes and kicks.
The aquatics director will be happy to answer any questions and
schedule any private lessons with the instructor best suited with
the student's needs.

Private swim lessons are offered from September through May. None are scheduled in the summer. Lessons are 30 minutes.

Water Fitness
Water aerobic classes are offered five days a week, with instructors who keep up-to-date with all the correct methods to workout in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
