Altavista Area YMCA Sports *All programs are subject to change based on participation numbers. YMCA Basketball Registration The YMCA will hold registration for Youth Basketball begining October 15th through November 2nd. The program is for participants, 5 through 12 years of age as of November 1st, 2008. Volunteer coaches are needed for the program. NASP Archery The YMCA's National Archery in the Schools Program is currently holding registration for the Fall session. This years program will be held at Faith Christian Academy every Wednesday at 530pm. The program will begin September 17th at 530. Boys and Girls in 3rd through 12th grade are encouraged to participate. The program teaches basic archery nomenclature, the 11 steps to proper shooting technique, and most importantly, range safety. Individual scores are compiled throughout the season. Cost is $40 for new students and $10 for returning students.
